The gap
The plan says what arrives when. The node decides whether it continues.
Germany is the alliance’s logistics hub. Every node is a change of transport mode: sea to road, road to rail, air to road. The same questions, often still answered with experience, a spreadsheet and a radio: what fits on what, in which order, what blocks whom. Relay turns that into a shared, executable picture.
Without supplied staging points the hub stays a theory. Convoy Support Centers (CSC) are the enabler: fuel, rations, maintenance and documented area, so formations can hold the chain of nodes.

What arrives from NATO movement planning becomes a yard plan, is executed on the ground, and is written back as an auditable report.

Yard and sequence planning
Draw the node area. Calculate capacity. Derive parking order from departure sequence. Area and sustainment as separate resources.

Field execution
The same picture, reduced for the marshall to the next action. Capture at the object. Planned versus actual as system state.

Evidence
Event log, throughput, commander’s report. Actuals back into planning. The next operation stands on real numbers.
Nodes
One model for the hub.
CSC
Convoy Support Center. Sustainment as the binding resource: fuel, rations, maintenance. Without CSCs the formation does not get through.
Seaport
Area. Heavy equipment in stowage order, separate from the carrier.
Airfield
Apron. Clearance sequence governs arrival rate, timing in minutes.
Railhead
Ramp and train make-up. A sequence error shows hundreds of kilometres later.
AIOrigin
From the force and recognised by NATO.
Built with Logistics Battalion 163 and the Cyber Innovation Hub of the Bundeswehr, under the name Yarded. First place in the 2023 NATO Innovation Challenge. The demonstrator is proven. Relay is the production line from it.
Boundary
What Relay does not take on.
- Relay does not replace NATO movement planning. It makes that plan executable on the node.
- Movement credits and route clearances stay with the competent authorities.
- Relay controls the movement node, not the fight.
- Conflicts are shown. Decisions stay with the authorised user.
